This ministry was started in the early 1980’s by Dr. Dora Tan, a member of TCC, working with a group of deaf students who met regularly at the YMCA. As this group grew in number, more leaders were raised from within the church and eventually a department called the Trinity Deaf Ministry was formed. More volunteers from the main section were recruited from the church as sign language teachers in order to teach the deaf and others. Today, sign language classes are conducted in our church and deaf people from all walks of life, from within our centre and also from other organisations attend these sign language classes. The curriculum for these classes has expanded to include seminars and workshop, where principles of good moral behaviour are taught not only to the deaf but to the blind, handicapped, youths and others.
