  Church History

During the early years of TRINITY COMMUNITY CENTRE, the Church met in a small single storey house along Lorong Maarof, Bangsar Park. At that time we had a congregation of thirty people, half of whom were hearing impaired.

As the Church grew in number, the Lord impressed upon the heart of His servant to look for a bigger venue to cater for the increase. With RM12.60 in the Church account and following the direction of the will of God, we moved into a double storey bungalow along the main road of Jalan Maarof in 1984.

As our numbers grew again, we moved on to occupy a rented space in an office complex in Petaling Jaya.

God has done many great and marvellous things since the inception of TCC. During the occupancy of the bungalow at Jalan Maarof, the tenancy was due to expire in May, 1986 after which the bungalow was likely to be sold and TCC would have to vacate. With much prayer and seeking the Lord’s will and upon receiving several confirmations, the Church collectively felt the need to purchase the building with an offer of RM370,000. The Church managed to secure a bank loan of RM170,000 and the balance RM208,068 was raised within a short period of six months; this despite the fact that our congregation was only about seventy, most of whom were students, middle and low income earners, as well as the hearing impaired and blind.

On one particular Sunday, near to Chinese New Year holiday season when attendance was at its lowest, God did a great miracle right before the eyes of those who attended the service! This was just before the deadline for payment where the church needed a sum of RM56,000, failing which our deposit of RM40,000 would be forfeited. As the offering was tabulated, it miraculously amounted to RM56,068 (with the additional RM68 needed to pay some disbursements)!

Against great odds TCC obtained government approval for conversion of the residential premises to a “centre” for religious and community services. Approval was also obtained for extensive renovation. Once again the Church triumphed because we serve a miracle working God who never fails to provide and meet the circumstance. Praise the Lord God Almighty, whose mercies endures forever!
